Mart is a versatile violinist with a passion for musical diversity. From a very young age, she was trained by violinists Pál Szomora and Tcha Limberger, developing a deep love for Balkan music and learning largely by ear. In 2018, she earned her master’s degree at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, studying with Otto Derolez, Lei Wang and Shirly Laub. She also completed her teacher training at the KASK Conservatorium in Ghent, where she now shares her knowledge of classical technique, improvisation, and world music with students and ensembles. Mart won first prize at the Belfius Classics competition, which led to a recital at the Koninklijke Muntschouwburg in Brussels. She has also appeared as a soloist with the Oost-Vlaams Symfonisch Orkest, Hamse Concertband, and others.
Her performing career in bands such as trio flecijn, flairck, les poissons voyageurs, bløf, antwerp philharmonic orchestra has taken her on international tours to Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, France, Switzerland, Poland, the Netherlands, and Germany. In Flanders, she has collaborated with ão, Lara Rosseel, Bart Peeters, Euforro, Pierre Anckaert, Firgun Ensemble, Emile Verstraeten, Wouter Berlaen, Katrien Verfaillie, Janos Bruneel, Joris Vanvinckenroye, and many others. She has also contributed to tv shows such as The Voice van Vlaanderen and Merci voor de Muziek.
As a composer, Mart has written and arranged music for bands including Ão, Trio Flecijn, and Les Poissons Voyageurs. Her piece Drop was selected for the latest Fingerprints edition by Radio Klara, Kunstenpunt, and ComAV, and recorded by the Firgun Ensemble at Studio Toots in Brussels.
Currently, Mart is engaged in research and the development of new music for her own project as well as for other ensembles.
